Function Of MEC

The activities carried out by the MEC in conducting examinations are as follows:

  • Preparing regulations and scheme of examination.
  • Studying, revising and designing examination syllabuses.
  • Setting and preparing question papers and examination materials.
  • Co-ordinating the registration of examination candidates.
  • Co-ordinating the conduct of the examinations and the marking of candidates' answer scripts.
  • Processing and checking of examination results.
  • Setting standards for the papers and subjects and awarding the examination results.
  • Scrutinising candidates' appeals on examination results.
  • Training the staff and officers of the Secretariat appointed by the MEC.
  • Studying and researching the behaviour of candidates and other matters related to examinations.
